Everything here looks bigger.
Better cars, bigger houses, higher salaries.
Even waiters and baristas seem more comfortable with money.
So I looked it up.
And this chart says it all.
The poorest US state, Mississippi, has a higher GDP per capita than France.
The average American earns almost twice as much.
And the richest states? They play in another league entirely.
No wonder things feel different here.
We often think we’re comparable to the US.
We’re not.
France is rich in culture.
The US is rich in dollars.
